Naxos is famous for the marble quarries which are dating back to ancient Greece. The local marble is of top quality and is known as "crystalina" thanks to its shining and almost transparent texture. There are a couple of workshops in the island, where experienced sculptors and artists will share their knowledge and provide you with the techniques of marble carving. After you finish the course you will be able to create basic sculptures and you will keep your first creation as a souvenir from Naxos.
