Our meeting point is on the main road in Eggares in front of "Haris Taverna". Christos will pick us up from there with her truck to do the rest of the bumpy road until her farm. The bumpy farm road between the bamboos is a part of the experience. You will find Christos under an olive tree where she has all her work tables, blocks of Naxian crystalline white marble, and a set of locally forged tools. She will share with you a brief history of marble arts, introduce you to the different types of tools, and discuss the properties of marble and other stones.

She will guide you through the use and the traditional hand carving technique of each tool and you will practice with each tool on a block of marble with what you have learned. When you have "mastered" each tool, we will proceed to design and create a relief sculpture that you can then take home with you. It can be an Archaic Greek design from one of Christo's templates or an idea you have brought with you. She will work with you on the approach, process, and execution of the piece.
