Apollonas has been inhabited since antiquity and used to be the port of the village Koronida. It was also the port from which Naxian marble was exported to Athens and the rest of the world.
The village is famous for the massive 10.5 m unfinished Kouros-type statue which can be seen just a few meters outside the village entrance.
The tour starts from the small village of Apollonas paddling around cape Venetiko, and heading south to the beautiful Lionas bay. Along the way we make there are two stops for swimming and snacks.
Our route passes by and through a variety of rock formations, caves and arches. The landscape presents a variety of colours and some of the most amazing crystal clear waters on the island. This part of Naxos is wild, remote and green. The excursion ends in the small village of Lionas, as the deep gorge you will travel along ends at a big pebble beach, surrounded by vertical rocks.

Exercise and fun all in one. Our experienced guide helped us keep a tempo and not waste our stamina. The route was amazing and the shoreline so diverse with beautiful beaches. Me and my girlfriend loved it!
