Visit the larger neighboring island of Mykonos full of beauty and art.
Tinos houses the most important church in Greece, the impressive "Evangellistria" which was built for the miraculous icon "Megalochari". It is the aim of pilgrimage for Greek people from all over the world.
Also, Tinos was inhabited by the Venetians for about 500 years and therefore there are still plenty of beautiful pigeon houses originating from these times and also many Catholic villages.
The island has many beautifully maintained traditional villages and many with marble sculpturing decorated houses, crafted by local Tinian marble artists.
Tinos is famous for its white and grey marble which is taken from the marble quarries in the north of the island and is also fitted in Buckingham Palace in London and the Paris Louvre.
