With a licensed and very experienced guide, the history of Naxos will come to life on this short tour of Naxos' old town and the castle.
Your tour begins from the Old Town of Naxos. You will discover Naxos history as you climb up the hill, walking down the alleyways, you will be taken back through time from the ancient gods to the Dukes and the walled fortress of the Middle Ages.
The tour continues to the noble quarters of the Medieval Palace and you stroll down to the vibrancy of the Old Town, you will experience many sensations every step of the way in the narrow streets. Every corner and every coat of arms above a doorway has a story to tell of the history of families on the island.
Your expert guide will bring to life the timeless myths and history of Naxos from its early Cycladic past to the Medieval all the way until modern times.
The inspirational walk ends at the famous Portara, of the Temple of Apollo, offering a breathtaking view of the sensational sunset over the azure Aegean Sea.
Last but not least, before the end of the tour, your guide offers tips on the best places for lunch, shopping, and further activities on your own so you get the most from your stay on our beautiful island.
